Testimonial from a satisfied client who travelled with Ireland On My Mind!

"I have just had the pleasure of taking a tour of the real, authentic Ireland with Linda Rosen of Ireland On My Mind. I can not begin to explain how her love and knowledge of this beautiful country, its people, history and the music are passed on to anyone who accompanies her.

Linda Rosen has the ability to bring Ireland to you rather than you to Ireland."

Overview of Ireland

Come with me to the most beautiful country in the world, Ireland.
I will be very pleased to show you the most breath-taking part
...... the West.

We will spend 9 days and nights touring County Kerry, County Clare, County Galway and County Mayo. We stay right in the heart of Galway City located on the famous Galway Bay and in the middle of two of Ireland’s most quaint 17th villages…..An Daingen/Dingle Town and Lehinch.... both situated on the dramatic and stunning shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

The itinerary, timing and the venues/sites we see are carefully thought out....all aimed at providing a dream experience for women: jaw-dropping oceanscapes, pristine beaches, beautiful mountains, deep verdant valleys, thatched roof cottages, sweeping green fields dotted with sheep, islands, waterfalls, lakes and more!

Let us introduce you to traditional Irish music, authentic Irish people, 18th and 19th century architecture, castles, cathedrals and ruins, ancient grave yards, and quaint Disney-like villages.

You will get a feeling and appreciation for the history and the spirituality of Ireland and best of all....you will be experiencing this dream vacation in a quiet, intimate setting with like-minded friends. Some of the people you meet on this tour, if not all, will remain your friends for life.

We are driven around by a licensed driver/guide who was born and raised in Ireland and speaks Gaelic. The stories our drivers tell and the jokes they share are wildly entertaining. Just getting to know the driver and trying to decipher his accent is an adventure in itself!

I am determined to make this journey a Trip of a Lifetime for you and do try to honor requests whenever possible. Please call or email me with any questions. Thank you for visiting my website!

NOTE:  We advise everyone to fly in a day early to refresh and get ready for the tour. We will help you with these reservations. Most likely, everyone who is going on the trip will be in the same place.

"Do you like to travel and see out of the way, unusual places? Then the Linda Rosen, ‘Ireland On My Mind’ tour is the one for you. The scenery, the local people, the history and the beauty come alive in this well-organized tour planned by Rosen. As a person who has conducted many tours in Europe, I can highly recommend the professionalism exhibited by this tour. The travel accommodations are well-chosen, the itinerary is superior and the driver adds a touch of Irish humor for the participants."
Judy, Texas

"I’ve been lucky enough to see many beautiful countries in my life. Yet, I was unprepared for the continuous day-after-day beauty of Ireland. I can’t get that trip out of my mind...and I must say that I have never had more fun on any trip than the time I went to Ireland with Linda Rosen."
Sarah, Minnesota

"My friend whom I always travel with found Linda Rosen’s website, 'Irelandonmymind.com' on line. After having traveled with Ireland On My Mind, we want to go back to Ireland and if we do we will go with Linda Rosen. Linda is an amazing woman with boundless energy and is a fun person to be around. She hires an Irish driver that she directs to the most gorgeous places I have ever seen. There are at least 40 shades of green in almost every Irish scene! We enjoyed the people of Ireland as well as the beautiful scenery. The food in the pubs is delicious. If you have any reservations about going to Ireland, go to a Barnes & Noble store and look at an Irish calendar. You will be hooked and you will be lucky to have Linda Rosen help you get there!!!"
Rita, Texas

"This is a unique concierge-like tour with a small group of women, a tour guide and an Irish driver. Linda Rosen is not only lots of fun but also has an encyclopedic knowledge of western Ireland that became clear early into our tour as we explored the nooks and crannies of that magical place. I once read that the best kind of travel takes you into another “world” and challenges you to be bold, curious and engaged. Linda Rosen’s tours meet all of those criteria and more."
Sharon, Minnesota

"I thoroughly enjoyed traveling in Western Ireland with Linda Rosen and Ireland On My Mind. Linda is very knowledgeable and went out of her way to make sure that our trip was memorable and we were comfortable. Our Irish driver was an exceptional asset with his wit and stories. The best part of the trip was travelling with our small group in a van. We were able to see parts of Ireland that a group in a large tour company would never see and mingle with the true Irish population. I would repeat this trip in a minute!"
Liz, Wisconsin

The Tour

Day 1   We will meet you at the Shannon Airport, head north to Ashford Castle, one of the most visited castles in Europe. We will have the opportunity to stroll through the castle grounds and the village of Cong, home to many scenes from "The Quiet Man" movie. Another fascinating site we will explore is Ballintubber Abbey, in existence since before Columbus discovered America.

After we check into our hotel in Galway City, we will take time to prowl amongst the many shops, pubs and historic sites of Ireland’s most vibrant city. The streets of Galway have been blocked off creating a hospitable and exciting street atmosphere which includes musicians, street vendors, open markets and sidewalk cafes.

Days 2 & 3   Today we leave Galway and head west to Connemara and Joyce Country. This area is rugged while being stunningly beautiful. We will leave the main roads, if weather permits, and see some of the most serene, natural landscapes you have ever seen.

Connemara offers extraordinary ocean vistas, castel ruins, gardens, bogs, mountains and the Irish fjord, the Killary. This area has been often described in poems as "haunting".

We will stop at Roundstone and Clifden, two charming villages...take a little time out to stroll and explore and have a fun lunch in a quaint café, tea house or pub.

After touring, we will head back to Galway and enjoy another late afternoon and evening in this wonderful, medieval town. We are staying directly on Eire Square across the street from the JFK Memorial and right around the corner from Saint Nicolas' Cathedral... visited by Christopher Columbus before he set sail on the voyage that led to his discovery of America.

Overview of Connemara

Day 4   We are off this morning for the Dingle Peninsula. Along the way we will see many interesting sites... the most noteworthy being the village of Adare.

Adare is often called "the most photographed village in all of Ireland". It is famous for its thatched roof cottages, lovely town park, Adare Manor and the ruins of Desmond Castle. We will stop here for a walk-about and perhpas lunch or tea.

The beach at Inch, one of our favorite beaches in Ireland, is our next stop. If the weather permits we will have time to explore and walk the mile-long beach. If you have seen the movie "Ryan's Daughter", it is featured in many scenes. Sited between the Ring of Kerry and the Dingle Peninsula, it is truly a remarkable scene!

We will reach Dingle Town in late afternoon. Our hotel is located on the wharf area of Dingle Harbour, a natural cove in the Atlantic Ocean. If you want to take a brisk walk in the mornings or early evening....this is the perfect location for you!

Day 5   The Photographers of National Geographic Magazine once cited the Slea Head Drive on the Dingle Peninsula as the most beautiful place in the world. So, today, look forward to seeing what some people believe is the most goegeous place on earth.

We plan on taking it slowly...savoring every beautiful spot and leaving no stone unturned. We will visit Dunquin Pier, the Blasket Island Center, Counminole Beach and the Gallorus Oratory as well. To top off a perfect day, we will have a wonderful lunch (on own) at a quaint pub in Bally David, right on the ocean's edge.

And if that wasn't enough, tonite we will be treated to an exceptional candle lit concert of incredibly talented musicians at St. James Chapel right in the heart of the village.

Day 6   Dingle Town is our favorite village on the tour. The whimsical architecture, abundance of fascinating shops, welcoming nature of the townspeople and high volume of available exceptional musicians is unequaled.

We find that if we don't allow time to shop or stroll around Dingle Town, our travellers mutiny. So, today we will allow time in the early day "on own". You will want to take the time to shop, explore, photograph or hang out at the wharf. If not, we can always meet at Benner's for a hot scone topped off with a blob of real cream the size of a baseball, and I promise you....you will not want to go home.

In the afternoon, we will be delighted to show you castle ruins...Minard's Castle at Stone Beach...and if the weather permits you will see some of the clearest water in the Atlantic Ocean and one of the most beautiful coves. We will lunch (on own) at The South Pole, one of Ireland's well-known pubs and once owned by Tom Crean, Ireland's most famous explorer. After a fun lunch, we will venture up the mountain side to photograph Lake Annascaul...a serene lake in a valley in the mountain, and Tom Crean's grave at the foot of the mountain.

Tonite, we are invited to attend a small, private concert located at a thatched roof cottage on the wharf hosted by Michael Herlihy. All the music you hear in Dingle Town will blow you away, I promise!

The Dingle Peninsula

Day 7   Today we head for County Clare via a ferry across the Shannon River.

We are going to spend our last 3 days and nights in Lehinch, home of one of the world’s most well-known links golf courses. Lehinch is a wee village but is sited on a mile long stretch of sandy beach loaded with surfers during mild weather. When its sunny the townspeople come out with their dogs and prams and walk up and down the promenade.

If you enjoy a good morning walk, this is the perfect spot to meander around before we take off for our day’s adventures.

Day 8   Today is going to be filled with one of the greatest adventures you have even been on. We will be taking a ferry across Galway Bay to one of the Aran Islands, Inis Oirr. On the island we will have additional time to explore or have tea or lunch. This island is the least developed of the Aran Islands and is one of the finest examples of what "old Ireland" would have looked like.

In the early afternoon we will board the ferry again and this time go directly under the Cliffs of Moher. This is truly one of the most dramatic and spectacular sites in Ireland. Bring your camera!

In the evening we will be traveling to Doolin, a charming, wee village just north of Lahinch, to hear some of the best music in County Clare.

Day 9   Today we are going to explore County Clare and the Burren, an area reserved as a National Park and loaded with historical and archeaological sites. The Burren is one of Ireland's most treasured areas. We will spend some time at the Perfumery, view Red Mary's Mansion, the Dolmen Poulnabrone and tour one or two of Ireland's most charming villages. We have a lot to choose from: Doolin, Liscannor, Ballyvaughan, Kinvara, Lisdoonvarna, or Ennystimon.

In the afternoon, in lieu of a farewell dinner, we will have high tea at Ireland's most elegant and exclusive Castle, Dromoland. This extraordinary castle was originally the ancestral home of the fighting O'Brien Clan, direct descendants of Brian Boru, the High King of Ireland. We will end the day by touring the walled English Garden on the beautiful grounds of Domoland Castle. This afternoon is one you will never forget!

Taking the Ferry to Inis Oirr and Beneath the Cliffs of Moher!

Day 10  Back to the airport for an early morning flight.
