“This is a trip of a lifetime, Ladies! I invite you to travel with me to this most beautiful land, view outstanding scenery, learn the history, hear the music, and meet the wonderful Irish people. Together we will experience the pulse
of Ireland… through devotions and prayer…laughter...and…discussions. Be prepared for an itinerary that is well-planned, fun and exciting….yet we will have time to relax ….share each others’ company and enjoy the unexpected.’’
We will be staying right in the middle of the towns and villages we visit. At night, everyone will be able stroll around town, meet-up with friends easily and pub crawl in relative safety. You will LOVE
the places we are staying. We are going to see many wonderful venues that we don’t have space to display here. We are going to meet the “real Irish”. You will also be surprised at how much fun it is to be on the small bus and laugh and joke with our Irish driver. Be prepared to strengthen old relationships and to forge wonderful new ones.

Day 1: We will meet you at the Shannon Airport at 10 a.m. and from there we will head to Bunratty…. a small village about 10 minutes from the airport in County Clare. We normally don’t use B & B’s but this one is perfect for our group. It is cozy, decorated to perfection and has the rooms we need to meet and be comfortable. Also, it is located a short walk from Bunratty Castle and the Victorian Irish Village we plan on seeing mid-afternoon. Before we leave for the Castle…we will enjoy tea and scones in the dining room. This is perfect for our first day…plenty of time to regroup and refresh….have a quiet dinner if you desire at one of several restaurants in the village and then get to bed early!
Day 2: Enjoy your Full Irish Breakfast! At 10 oclock our driver will be picking us up, loading up our luggage and off we go north out of County Clare and up through parts of County Galway. We will eventually end up in one of Ireland’s truly fascinating sites….. Ballintubber Abbey…. an Abbey built in the 1400’s and despite fires, wars and other hardships….has been in use everyday since then. It was built by peasants, is the site of a Pilgrim’s Way and St.Patrick is rumored to have been there 1,700 years ago. The simplicity of the design is awesome. We can’t wait for you to see the Abbey and its absolutely beautiful grounds. After the Abbey we will visit the wee village of Cong, site of the filming of The Quiet Man movie. Then we will stroll the grounds of the stunning Ashford Castle and take a peak at its main rooms as well. Today you will really see parts of authentic Ireland. We will head back south around 4 p.m. and check into our hotel, the Imperial, located in Galway City, across the street from Eyre Square, the park JFK spoke in.
Day 3: Today we will wake up in Galway City and spend most of the day in Connemara…one of Ireland’s truly beautiful areas. The exact route we are taking has not been decided yet. What do you think? Would you rather see wee villages and the ocean or stunning scenery complete with a fjord? Let us know. But….what ever we do it will delight you!!!
We will go back to Galway City in late afternoon. Galway is alive with music every night and we are located right in the middle of all the activity if you choose to partake. The city has obvious medieval influences. Get your camera out and walk the streets if you like old, old architecture. (We have to get up early today to walk a few blocks to see St. Nicolas’s Cathedral…..Christopher Columbus visited it when he was in Galway BEFORE he went to America. )
Day 4: Today after breakfast we will leave for the Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry. This is a 3-4 hour drive but don’t worry. We can stop for scones and coffee anytime we feel like it. In fact, we are for sure stopping in Adare, the most photographed village in Ireland, letting you out where you can cruise in front of the thatched roof cottages in your own time, shop the gift shops and may be even grab a little lunch or a huge ice cream cone. Once we get out to the Peninsula, we hope to take a stroll on Inch Beach….an exquisite one mile long beach on Dingle Bay. We will check into our hotel, the Dingle Bay Hotel, late afternoon. The night is all yours. (Hint: there are over 50 pubs on the Dingle Peninsula) Remember that when we refer to pubs we are really talking about the craic in the pubs not the drinking of liquor. Craic is the fun, the conversation and the joy of music!!!!! There is a great deal of music to be heard in Dingle Town.
Day 5: Enjoy your full Irish Breakfast and when you are done ….stroll along the wharf and watch the boat traffic! Dingle Town is located on a beautiful bay. Today is the day we are heading out to the stunning Slea Head Drive, once voted by the National Geographic Photographers as the most beautiful place in the world. See if you agree. We will also stop at several other sites while we are out there….including the Blasket Interpretive Center. We will have a full day. Tonite
we are going to a candle light concert at St. James’s Church……traditional music. You will be so pleased.
Day 6: Today we are going to let you have the morning off: sleep, shop, walk around? We find that women mutiny if they don’t get a chance to shop/prowl/cruise Dingle at least for a couple of hours. Around 12:30 we are headed off to Annascaul, about a 12-15 minute drive for an afternoon at the ruins of Minards Castle , the Stone Beach, the South Pole Pub…once owned by famous Irish explorer Tom Crean, Tom Crean’s grave at the foot of the mountain behind his pub, and last but not least, Lake Annascaul. The beautiful serene lake is tucked into the mountains where very few tourists ever go…..except us. And as if that weren’t enough tonite we are going to a concert in a thatched roof cottage on the wharf.
Day 7: We leave Dingle today and head in a northerly direction past Tralee and onto the ferry on the Shannon River.
As soon as we have crossed the river, we are in Clare! Along this route, we will stop in several villages that are absolutely so delightful they look fake. We will be staying in Lahinch, another wee village, that looks like it belongs on a postcard. Lahinch is sited directly on a Liscannor bay, one that is famous for surfing. If is it nice, we will be able to take our morning coffee and walk the sidewalk that rims the beach. This village is famous for the Lahinch Golf Course. You will see golfers walking around in their golf outfits as the course is so close to the town it is in the town. We hope we will be able to watch the sun set over the bay tonite.
Day 8: After breakfast we are heading out to the charming fishing village of Doolin. From here we are going to take a very safe ferry out to the Aran Island of Inis Oirr (Inish Sheer) and spend a great part of the day on the island. We will see , on Inis Oirr, the old way of life in Ireland. Our driver will pick us up at the wharf and we will have a pony and cart ride around the island! Then, on the way back to the main land we will be taking the boat under the Cliffs of Moher. This is one of the most spectacular experiences offered anywhere in Europe. Another sunset on the beach tonight?
Day 9: We will begin our day with a bus tour of several of the most charming villages in the West of Ireland. There are so many to choose from! We will end the day at Dromoland Castle for high tea. This is an experience you will never forget. Dromoland Castle was built by the fighting O’Brien Clan in the 1500’s and we have read that if your name is O’Brien you are probably related to them. The Castle experience is truly a highlight….something we couldn’t get anywhere where we live. Tonite we will meet to say our Farewells to each other. Many new friendships will be made on this most exquisite journey and many old ones will be strengthened!
